working my *beep* off

I'm back! Moved and almost unpacked. *sigh* Not moving again for a very long time.

Funny story, went though the drive though the other day and I got myself an ice cream and not the kids, little miss 5 started to whinge and little miss 8 said "Hey, mum has been working her ass off, she can have an ice cream if she wants!" Oops, do you think I have been saying that much?! Never! I'm a perfect roll model for my children ;)

Moving is the second most horrid thing you can knowingly do to yourself, first is getting pregnant. Remind me if I want to do either again.

This does make it all worth it though. Did I mention we now have a pool?? I took this from the kitchen window while the kids had breakfast. I know, very lucky!!

In the craziness of moving we did take Flat Stanly here.

Must keep unpacking. Mum and sister are here from down south next Friday!! So excited!! xox

postie love

"Hello Flat Stanly"

Friday we had Flat Stanly arrive in the post. He has come from down south for a visit and to discover the NT life. He would like to see fish.

The kids and I have had a lovely few days getting ready and posting out the Kids mail swap #2.  And we did it on time!! Unheard of here, organisation is not one of my strengths. Thanks again Christie!

I really don’t know why we don’t do that sort of thing more often, probably because I’m not organised enough! We have tones of people we could send letters and postcards too. Might make it a monthly thing.

And in other postie news………I WON STUFF! Lots of fantastic stuff from the lovely Miss Belinda from tutti fruiti. So generous! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Lovely fabric!!

Belinda ran a blog give away after returning from her trip to Bangkok, without kids, luck duck!  She also sells gorgeous skirts and cute mother and baby dolls, check out her her shop.

And all these lovely things!

Still wondering what to do with the loveliness. Has motivated me to do a giveaway myself….once the crazy move is over, stay tuned!

Now I'm off, packing and moving for the next week, so next time you hear from me we'll be in our new house!! No more wall to wall builders!! Yay!

Thank you so much for all the love comments! I really miss my sewing group down south and having you peeps here is a lovely alternative :)

too much...

So I'm going to have a wee bit of a whinge. I have added pretty pictures of the only sewing I have done this week to give those of you not interested something to look at.

See the pretty little lady bug!

So we're moving and it sucks and I don't want to do it. But I am going to because I hate the builders more. This is will be our 5th move in 5 years, 3 moves were interstate. So I am well and truly jack of it. Hubby is at work until the day we take over the lease so I am left to pack, care, feed, clean, organise etc the 4 little ones. On top of that we have been sick. So no full nights sleep here in over a week. Crap!

And this lovely little number!

On top of that moving craziness, my friend with the PND is in the mother baby unit recovering and will be for some time. So I am thinking of her and her family and reliving some of that yuck and black and shit from my experience.

This one is my favorite! Little tiny lady bugs and mushrooms.

And to0 add the icing on the cake, my family of origin is falling apart. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not good timing for me!! I want to jump up and down and scream 'what about me, it isn't fair! I've had enough and I want my share!' But I wont. Instead I will whinge and take a deep breath and start again tomorrow.......

it's been a year!

Well, I never thought in a million years I would be saying this, but I am, I love the Territory! Crazy I know! I don't like the heat. I don't like to sweat. I don't like bugs. I don't like it when people put 'hey' on the end of every sentence and yet I love it there!! And I now on occasion say 'hey' too!

So in celebration of this occasion our family went into 'town' (Darwin!) to the museum and art gallery.
Lovely day was had by all.

'Hello Sweetheart!" Kids thought it was pretty funny that a male croc was called Sweetheart. Very Territory thing to do. 5.2 metres and well over 700kg, yep, huge!

Cyclone Tracy exhibit.....little bit scary. Not sure if it was a good idea to look at that!

Kids checking out the discovery centre part. Very cool! Can look and touch all sort of stuff.

Dad thought it was pretty cool too ;)

My very brave little ones! Really was a fresh water croc, but now he's stuffed!

We did however run into trouble on the way home. We were on our way to Spotlight, just needed a few things, I promise, and we got a flat. Huh! Thank goodness hubby was with me. So now my big black shinny car is missing one shinny mag and is driving around on a spare that looks like it come from a '92 Camry. Like I need another job to do this week!

Oh and we got somethings for the Kids Mail Swap #2. Kids are sooo excited about it!
So how was you weekend? See any crocs? Get any flat tyres? xox

something fishy finished!

Yep, I know, I rock! Poor dear husband has had to talk to the back of my head for the last few days but it is done and will be in the post first thing tomorrow morning.  Easy peasy quilting, took a couple of hours tops, took longer to bind it! Better to have it done. Also, its for my step dad, he is a boy and really wont be looking too hard at the detail. I even did a hanging sleeve.

Thank you so much for leaving comments. Both here in blog land and over in the tree tops of twitter.
Gives me a big happy smiley face!
