Confidence

Having a little crises of at the moment....
You know don't you? When you think you've got it and then you don't. Doubt creeps in......

I'm still working on the DQS#9. Thought I had it but now.....not so sure. And I'd really love some honest thoughts. Because you are my friends and you can be honest :)

Here's how she looks at the moment.
There will be linen diamonds all around the edge and then binding to finish her off. So the quilt will keep the hexagon shape.
I'm still not sold on it. Hard with crappy camera (waiting on insurance) but I'm thinking it might be missing something.....what to you think?

These are the other 2 fabric I thought I could add.....or not.

Otherwise I could scrap it and start again.
Thoughts please?? xox

I like it, but if you want my 2 cents worth, I like the more solid aqua's and red fabrics with the line, and I would make it square. Me that is, but I am interested to see what others think x

I like it Bianca, don't scrap it. Have you tried white for the hexagons? Maybe that might make the coloured stars stand out a bit more, but really I think its lovely as is and I'll sure the recipient will love it too.

I think it looks very nice as it is! I am not a quilter so I cannot really give a constrictive advice but to me it look great. Sorry, not very helpful....

I like the linen, white would be nice too :)
The bottom star could be a little wishy washy, the star in the middle could be a bit redder, I would just use the aqua and reds/pinks through it, leave out the yellows - thats my 2 bobs worth. Probably just confused you more....

Heya Bianca, I like it too. White would be good for the hexagons, I agree. The other crazy thought that popped into my head would be putting tiny, tiny little red buttons in the centre of each linen hexagon. Crazy, no?!

I love the linen too but my first thought was also that the yellow has to go... sorry :(
Personally I think the linen would be cool with some red topstitching... depends how detailed you want to get!

I think I agree with Jacqueline, Bianca, something most particularly in that bottom star, have you tried it in the centre?. I love the linen Hexs with all of that colour, and am no quilter thats just my 2 cents worth.

Fi really is a professional! Oh and I knew you'd be the binding maker. I don't even know why I checked!!! You're a good egg.

I think the bottom star isn't quite right but from the photo it seems to be the only one that is the same base colour on each diamond. Maybe yellow with something else? I don't know....
I do like it though.

I think it looks lovely. Not sure about the other two fabrics. It is hard to tell until it is cut and part of the pattern though.

I love it too! Once you put the linen border on it, and then bind it, it will really finish it off.
