ta-da!

All tidy! Woohoo!
Gotta love inspections, 5 hours of cleaning and tidying for a 5 min walk through!

In other news....
I have been suffering. Terribly.
I have lost my sew mojo.
Yep, gone :(
I have read blog after blog, book after book and mag after mag hoping I would find it. But no...
I even forced myself to find it and just sew something to see if that would work. But no....

So I am without my sewing mojo...
If you happen to see it can you please return it? I miss it :(

....more tweaking and a giveaway

Miss 8 has a friend leaving school today so last night I thought I'd wip her up a pencil notebook thingy. Still not 100% happy. I like the brights and the wooden pencils. Little bit big. I have a tendency to over estimate. Getting there!

In unrelated news retro mummy is having a give away. Don't bother entering, lady luck is with me, only telling you all because I get another entry into the draw......lol! xox

...getting back to 'normal'

Firstly, thank you all so much for all the kind words of support. Last week was horrid and receiving emails, comments and tweets of support has been really, really lovely.

Thank you, thank you, thank you :)

Secondly, what to do in a crisis, sew of course!!

This 'notebook texta roll rap thingy' is a present for Miss 5 friend for his 6th birthday

Party was on Saturday, I made it last night

In my defence, I didn't get the invitation until 4pm on Friday

My pattern, been tweaking and tweaking since Christmas, think I nearly have it right

Thinking of selling them, with the handmade notebooks, what do you think? What do you think people be happy to spend on something like this? Mmmm don't know, being thinking and talking about it since Christmas...xox

my creative space

....is her creative space....

Miss 5 tracing out some Dear Fii Baby Perle's

They are for a birthday present this weekend

Miss 5 did all the tracing and fabric choosing. I did the rest.

Bag pattern is Buttercup by Made By Rae. Supper easy and quick, great for a little girl!

Just waiting to be stufed. Miss 5 wants to do that.....hmmm?!

And here is the progress on Father in laws quilt. Had some issues with the the charm pack (40+ out of 200 were not usable) but I'm getting there.

Pop over here to see more xox

Hey! Hows your weekend? We have been pretty busy. Baptism, birthday party, Darwin show and that was just Saturday!! And of course, in true disorganised Bianca style, I left the present making until mmmm 11 Friday night! And I didn't have a cushion insert. I ended up making one ater talking to Jacquie. Thanks for that!

Sorry about the blurred pictures, lens was all smudgy

Pip at meet me at mikes is having a giveaway if you haven't heard. Show her and us what your have made to go in the draw.

And I didn't make these...

but I wish I could! Aren't they cute!! My friend Carolyn makes and sells these. Not only do they look amazing but they taste incredible! Check her out.

back with some softies to show

"Hello Zet"

I'm back! Bloody hell I hope we never have gastro in this house again! 5 out of 6 were sick, littlest one was spared. One full week of sick people. Not cool. Sometimes I kid myself and think that 4 kids is easy peasy and a family 0f 6 is 'normal', after last week I have realised we are not 'normal' and 4 kids is plenty enough for me (husband, time to visit the vet).

Anyway that little guy is Zet from Australian Homesewn. Not the greatest pic, was running out the door when I took it. He was a present for a friends little boy. I made him from cord. Love it. Think this is how I will use up some of my stash, no need for it here, too hot!

...and "Hello Foo Fii"
formally known as "Pepper"

When I saw here what was coming in last months Homespun I knew I was going to make one. I cheated, as husband put it, brought the kit from the lovely dear fii. Who I should add is incredibly generous. There was a tiny delay in the kit arriving and Fi was very kind in sending something extra as an apology, completely not need, and lovely all the same!

I just love her! Been a very long time since I have done french knots and daisies. Lovely to sit and stitch with the kids. And, shhh don't tell anyone, it is the first time since high school I have used felt! Shock! And I love it!
Still not sure if softies are my thing, time will tell.

And because little miss 5 asked so nicely, Foo Fii has a sling so her baby and blankie can go everywhere with her, and she does!

Happy! xox

mum's giraffe

'Hello Giraffe'

I am really happy with how it turned out. Not too sure if softies are my thing yet. I like that that are reasonably quick and you can use little bits of your fav fabric at a time. I did think it was a little fiddly at times, didn't help I was pushed for time! Or that there was a mistake in the pattern pieces. Tummy (gusset) was too long.

I have used the same fabrics on the giraffe as I used on mum's 50th quilt a couple of years ago. So they will be matchy on her bed :)

She has a little scarf because it is so cold down south and we don't her to catch a cold. I have just pined the scarf on until the girls get home from school, they can then help me choose a button to use instead.

Mum and sis will be here tonight! For a week! Can't wait. So if I am a little absent it is because we are out catching crocs or freezing in the pool! xox

By the way, thank you all so much for your comments! And thank you sweet emmelie for you blog award! So lovely! Will post my nominations after mum's visit.

some time to be amazed at this mag, great projects!

Wish it was cold to make this one for little one....

and I am going to learn crochet and do these!

Check out Corrie's post for more about Family Circle.

*Edit - Turns out the present was a hit!! Little girls everywhere saying we are SO going to invite you to our party!! And the friend came up to me and thanked me without being prompted from mum. Thought that was pretty cool. And so did little miss :D*
